To Sleep

Swiftly fall like a feather into slumber
It consumes life in pleasant wonder
Stars flicker as if showing a film,
Moonlight drizzles silver into every realm.

To the Wanderlust

Flying to float on fire,
Dark charcoal-dusted soul
Wise eyes full of wonder
Under shadows clear.
Time slithers and slips
Between fingertips

Thin films of sand and salt,
Pounding, curious hearts cease
To wonder what home is -
Hands trace and submerge
Into undiscovered-unknown,
Home is there.

Love and light and lust,
Soft surfaces unfamiliar,
A translucent-opaque,
Existence never felt resistance until now.

To L'uomo Che Mi Fa Pensare

These days my senses seek silence
These days the days seep and sway
In undetected motions as I lay.
A smile paints a face with delight
Creases outline emotions bright
Pages toss and turn and move
Looking for things to prove
Eyes flicker and wonder
Urges and thoughts appear as thunder,
Answers to questions unthinkable
Sit next to the rubble,
Quiet and silent and loud.

To the Brown Eyes

The rain coats the road with silver,
Each drop a plea for attention.
Where do these streets wind?
Why do they make me shiver?

My teeth clench with unknown tension,
A wave of sorrow and dread
Covering my entire being;
Not an inch left free.

Walk down this silver street,
aluminum, iron, gray;
Let me go.
Escape my mood and discover life.

I am abandoned and confused,
The road curves to a place I've never been
And it does not matter;
Because no one ever stays for long.

Brown eyes overflowing with wonder and amazement;
Smiles telling lies of compassion,
Memories of false plans,
Fingertips with lustful tendencies.

This road, it is black but seems gray
When it rains.
It is dark but seems bright.
It is real but does not seem right.
